I'm Chris Lam, a content creator. Within that, I'm a producer, director, editor, and host. From making videos from start to finish on my YouTube channel, OneWingedChris, as well as on BuzzFeed's YouTube and FaceBook, I have amassed a wealth of experience making not just entertaining content, but also content that sparks conversation and inspires change. I'm passionate about making videos about video games, animation, mental health, race, and LGBTQ identity.
I started out as a programmer. In fact, I have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering And Computer Science from UC Berkeley. After working at a few tech companies, I realized it wasn't what I wanted to do with my life. Thanks to student group, Theatre Rice!, I was able to discover and develop my own creative voice, and started my YouTube Channel at the beginning of my senior year at Berkeley. I made content for that channel purely for myself, but after I graduated, I was able to use my channel as a portfolio to apply for BuzzFeed. I started in October 2014 as a video intern, in January 2015 as a video fellow, and in April 2015 I was made a full-time video producer. And that's how I'm here now.
In my free time, I enjoy trying out new Korean BBQ and Japanese restaurants. I also love playing video games. I've been playing a lot of Overwatch, Bayonetta 2, and Pillars of Eternity. I'm currently watching Steven Universe religiously, and I often re-watch Avatar: The Last Airbender and Sailor Moon.
In short, I'm just your run-of-the-mill dream-chaser?
